How the stairlift calculator works
Our guide prices for a stairlift, including installation, serve as a starting point. A standard rail is often suitable for straight staircases. Curves and landings require a made-to-measure rail, which is why the price increases significantly in these cases.
We deduct the subsidy from the long-term care insurance fund directly. Second-hand stairlifts are a genuine alternative for straight staircases. For curved staircases, the rail is usually made to order, so the savings are smaller in such cases. Find out more under ‘Second-hand stairlifts’.
| Lift | New, including installation |

| Seat lift, curved staircase | €7,500–12,500 |
| Platform lift | €10,000–18,000 |
| Lift | €7,000–14,000 |
| Annual maintenance | €150–300 |
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the stairlift calculator?
It presents a realistic framework. The fixed price is only quoted in the quotation following the site survey, as the shape of the stairs, the walls and the electrical connection vary from house to house.
Why does a curved staircase cost so much more?
The rail is measured for your staircase and made to measure. A straight rail, on the other hand, can usually only be cut to size.
Does the grant also apply to a second-hand stairlift?
In principle, this is possible. It is important that the installation makes home care easier and that the application is submitted to the long-term care insurance fund before the work begins.
What are the ongoing costs involved?
You can expect to pay around €150 to €300 per year for maintenance and a small amount of electricity. Find out more under ‘Maintenance’.
How long does the installation take?
A straight stairlift can often be installed in just a few hours. With a curved rail, manufacture takes a few weeks, whilst installation usually takes about a day.
